OVERVIEW

Bringing together Pacific Life Re’s and Underwrite Me’s global leadership team from across the business for a three day offsite at their UK offices in London. Attendees joined from across the UK, APAC, the US, Canada and Europe.
Working alongside the HR Business partners and senior leadership, our teams collaborated to produce three days of inspirational content on the theme of transformational leadership.

The creation of a custom platform for the event attendees meant an additional opportunity to engage with attendees and share resources pre-event. Registration was used as an opportunity to ask attendees for input into the content of specific sessions. Post event feedback was also incredibly valuable when assessing the impact of the event.

Each session corresponded to a different pillar of the transformational leadership methodology (Engage, Motivate, Empower, Develop).

The agenda was designed around key business updates taking place on set days with a variety of sessions from external speakers interspersed with interactive workshops. Social activities were organised locally with a Jazz improvisation evening, guided walk and group bowling activity among the highlights.

Assessing the environmental impact of this event was high on our list of priorities throughout planning and production.

We identified two areas of the event that would result in the most carbon emissions — transport and catering and tracked these using a measurement tool (Trace). Post-event our report detailed the carbon footprint across the three days and a figure was calculated for offsetting. PLRE selected The Ocean Foundation’s Sea Grass Grow as this project supports one of their philanthropic focus areas and The Ocean Foundation is an existing partner of the Pacific Life Foundation.
