Who we are

An events agency built to take responsibility for the whole experience

Broadsword is an independent global events agency founded in London in 2006. We work with organisations to turn ambitious, complicated briefs into events that are clear, considered and brilliantly delivered.

Strategy, creative, content, event management, technology and production work together from the start. That means the idea, the audience experience, the budget and the practical delivery are developed as one project rather than handed from team to team.

Whether you need a partner for one important event or a programme that crosses markets, our role is the same: understand what you need to achieve, bring the right people around the brief and take responsibility for making it happen.

Our story

Twenty years of making ambitious events happen

Broadsword was founded in London in 2006. Since then, our capabilities, team and international work have grown, but the principle behind the way we work has stayed simple: the best events happen when the people shaping the idea understand how it will be delivered, and the people delivering it understand why it matters.

Today we plan and produce corporate events and experiences around the world, from conferences and leadership programmes to awards, exhibitions, broadcasts, brand experiences and bespoke digital projects.

Experience matters because live events leave very little room for ambiguity. We know where detail matters, where risk can appear and when an idea needs to be challenged, simplified or pushed further. We bring that judgement to every project without defaulting to the same answer we used last time.

Integrated capability

One team around the whole brief

A great event is rarely just an event-management job, a production job or a creative job. The audience experiences all of it at once.

That is why Broadsword works as one multidisciplinary team. The people thinking about your objectives and audience are connected to the people developing the creative, building the content, planning the delegate journey, designing the technology and preparing the live production.

Decisions are made in context. A creative idea can be tested against the venue and budget early. A technical decision can be considered alongside the audience experience. Content can be designed for the screens, spaces and moments in which people will actually encounter it.

For the client, that creates something valuable: one joined-up plan, clearer ownership and fewer gaps between the idea on the page and the experience in the room.

Creative and delivery

Ideas that can actually be delivered

We want the creative work to be ambitious. We also want it to survive contact with the venue, the schedule, the technology, the audience, the budget and the live moment.

Because creative, event management and production work together, we can develop ideas with the practical realities in view from the beginning. That does not mean making the idea smaller. It means understanding what is possible early enough to make better choices, spend money in the right places and push the parts of the experience that will matter most.

The result should feel simple to the audience and well controlled to the client, even when there is a great deal happening behind the scenes.

Event technology

Technology with a reason to be there

We use technology when it solves a problem, removes friction or makes the experience more useful, engaging or memorable.

That can mean a registration journey, an interactive installation, a live broadcast, immersive screen content, audience participation or a bespoke digital platform. When an off-the-shelf product is not right for the brief, we have the capability to design and build something more appropriate.

Our technology and digital work is developed alongside creative, content, event management and production, so it is part of the event rather than something added at the end. The question is never simply “what is the newest technology?” It is “what will make this event work better for this audience and this client?”

Built around the brief

The right team for the brief

Our core team is built to take projects from first conversation to live delivery. When a brief needs additional specialist craft, extra scale or local knowledge, we extend that team with people and suppliers we trust.

We are selective about who represents Broadsword. Freelancers, specialist partners and suppliers go through a thorough onboarding process before they are brought into our work, so expectations, communication and delivery standards are clear from the outset.

That gives us the flexibility to build the team a project genuinely needs without losing consistency or accountability. To the client, it should still feel like one Broadsword team working to one brief.

Global delivery without losing the thread

Broadsword delivers events and programmes internationally, combining its core team with trusted local expertise when the brief requires it.

For global programmes, the challenge is not simply finding people in different places. It is keeping the objective, creative intent, production standards, budget decisions and client communication connected as the work moves across locations.

We build the delivery model around the project. The central team keeps the brief and the decision-making joined up, while local expertise is brought in where it adds value. Whether we are delivering one event overseas or a series across several markets, the client has a clear route through the project and a team that understands the whole picture.

Working together

A partner that gets into the detail with you

The strongest client relationships are not built on a presentation at the beginning and a handover at the end. They are built through the hundreds of decisions in between.

We work closely with client teams, ask questions early and keep communication direct. We will support the brief when it is right, challenge it when we can see a better route and give clear recommendations when decisions need to be made.

Clients bring us back because we learn how their organisation works, what their audiences expect and what matters internally. That knowledge makes the next project stronger and allows us to operate as a genuine extension of the team rather than starting from zero each time.

“We hugely value working with Broadsword, you feel like an extension of our team and go above and beyond to ensure the smooth running of the event, creatively raising the bar year on year.”

Our values

01

AUTHENTIC

We communicate directly, make recommendations we believe in and are clear about the decisions, trade-offs and costs behind the work.

02

BRAVE

We are prepared to challenge the obvious answer, push an idea further and speak up when we can see a better route for the event or the audience.

03

COMMITTED

We take ownership of the detail. From the first brief to the live show, the team stays close to the work and accountable for delivering it to the standard we agreed.

Our work

Built for the moments that matter

Our work includes major conferences, leadership and employee experiences, awards, exhibitions, broadcasts, brand experiences and international event programmes. The format changes; the standard does not.

Every project needs a clear objective, an audience experience designed around it and a team that can carry the idea all the way through to delivery.

Awards and recognition

Recognition for the work

Our work and our teams have been recognised across the events industry. We are proud of that recognition, but the measure that matters most is whether clients trust us with the next brief.

Our Awards
